The times newspaper carried an article on saturday explaining why extreme diets do not work.
The author - Amada Ursell discussed the whole business of yo-yo dieting and how we always want to look good for our summer holidays. But ultimately the article concludes that you should eat a low calorie, low fat diet.
Now I agree with that except (you knew that was coming) not all of us have the tenacity required to diet for a long period of time to lose the amount of weight we need to lose.
The lighter life diet enabled me to hit my excess weight in one mad and I agree extreme period of time. Now I can take the long term view and work on what is a Low GI type diet.
My food this weekend has been great and I have eaten well and healthily. I even think I have lost pound or two. I can take the long term view now having sorted the main weight issues out.
The article actually mentions the lighter life diet and the cambridge diet in quite a good light saying "they are better because they give you rapid weight loss results while leaving you feeling pretty healthy,..."
There is a times health club which you can join online and track your diet progress.
Food diary today.

A long long sunday on this diet
Just occasionally in a year nothing happens on a sunday. Today was one of those days. All I could think about was sticking to my lighter life diet. I thought about it so much that my mind wandered onto what would happen if I didn't stick to it.
These mental conversations are interminable. But i did stick to it.
Weigh in tomorrow which will keep me motivated
B: Fresh Fruit
L: Rump steak with baked parsnips and cauliflower, Strawberries
D: Grapes, banana apple and pear
S: Slim fast bar (run out of lighter life ones - honest)

Super fast weight loss diet - it must be bad for you
My lighter life diet is a super fast weight loss diet. But A few of my friends have shown concern that losing weight this fast must be bad for me.
I am not a medical expert but my 2 friends who are doctors have been very supportive of me and both feel that the resultant weight loss will far outweight any negative aspect of this quick weight loss diet.
My knees are better than ever and my general stamina and health is the best it has been for 30 years.
I know that 5 stone in 15 weeks is very extreme but this super fst weight loss diet has delivered a new life for me. The rest of my year and life has been transformed by the quick weight loss.
I do not think a long term diet would have done me any good - I have tried sensible weight loss diets before and they take too long for me to persevere with them
Any Comments?
