This weeks session with the lighter life counsellor gave me a surprise as I weighed in at 14 stones 11 which means I have maintained my weight loss now for 7 weeks.
Most of the meeting was about not going for instant rewards but delaying for the long term benefits. Well I am beginning to reap some of those long term rewards having stuck so well to this diet.
I won't apologise for being a bit smug because I earn't it and I deserve it.
The people who said I would put it straight back on were wrong. I feel completely confident that I will lose the weight and even lose a little bit more.
I am much happier with the stage of the diet I am on right now. I will probably not do abstinence for any long period of time again - just the odd days here and there as it suits me to maintain my weight.
Its great being in control of all this

I hope I have made the right decision
I have decided to go back on the 1st phase of lighter life for 4 weeks. I think this is right for me as I am having real problems keeping things going on route to management.
Having talked it over tonight with my lighter life counsellor we agreed that my mind is not keeping up with my body. Denying myself food and controlling portion sizes are skills that I do not have and need more time to learn.
Having been morbidly obese for 30 years My mind cannot adjust to being just a bit overweight. I was fully intending to do 4 weeks of abstinence in august so all I have really done is bring that forward to now.
So from tomorrow morning I am back on phase one. I am very sure I can do that because I have proved that already for 12 weeks.
I really do hope this is the right decision.
When I started this lighter life diet on January 6th I thought it was only going to be for 8 weeks. Now I know that this is a long term project and will probably take the whole year to complete. I will try and get into all the materials that lighter life provide to try and train my mind to accept boundaries with food. I have never done this in 52 years so it will be very hard.
To depressed to write food diary.
From tomorrow it will be
B: Shake
L: Thai chilli Soup
D:Shake
S:Nutty Bar
No point me recording this but at least I know I will stick to it without temptation.

5 Stone celebration over - now back to the diet
I had a real binge yesterday and had a mini ginger biscuit and 2 digestives with cheese.
OK - not much of a binge but good enough as a reward for myself losing all this weight.
Back to the rules today on my management track. My housegroup tonight were amazed at the further weight loss and said that even the extra 1/2 stone was noticeable. Very encouraging.
The best thing about this route to management part of the diet is the feeling of being in control of food. Food no longer has a hold on me like it used to. I can look at food and smell food and see other people eating banned food and I can simply decide to eat what I want to eat. Simple.
This means that I am sure I will keep the weight off. Very exciting.
I am still in this culture shock of the new body size. It takes a lot of getting used to. But in a good way.
Food Diary for today
B: Raspberry Shake
L: Boiled egg & Cottage Cheese on a salad bed
D: Aubergine and mushroom with quinoa.
S: Nutty Bar
